| 7/8/05 The above is one of my favorite quotes by Dan Millman, one of my favorite authors. This begins what I consider my spritiual web log, or 'blog as they call them. A place where I muse about my beliefs. I didn't make the link to this page very evident, so if you stumbled here, it is not by chance. It is because we have something to learn from each other, so be sure you email me to let me know you made it. I am someone on the same journey as you, and questioning things I have been taught throughout the years. I was raised Christian, Catholic more specifically. But as an adult, I took Dan Millman's quote to heart, and realized, that the was I was brought up was not necessarily, the "only way, truth and life." Unfortunately, it seems to be those who hold to such beliefs so dogmatically that are the source of much war and choas in today's world. In my perception, such individuals, without even realizing it, are guilty of what I consider the worst sin of all, hubris, that haughty pride that makes one think that they, with their finite human minds could possibly understand God's plan or desires for us. They fail to see that we all come from the same Creator, and thus are one human family--black/white, male/female, Muslim/Christian, gay/straight. As all being from the same Source, it is my personal belief that none is loved more than the other. We are all valued by God. When will we learn to value each other?! |
